200111 - Städteexpress - Y/B-70 Bautzen - 8 coaches set, Dresden Alt. station - NEW ROBO 2.0 LIGHTING BOARD
Passenger coach, type Y/B-70 Bautzen
Y/B-70 Bautzen, 9 compartment
In 1976, the Czechoslovak Railways did not collect 103 new carriages manufactured in the Bautzen plant for financial reasons. These carriages were transferred to the East German Railways DR, where they were assigned to modern express trains - Städteexpress, which connected the capital of Germany - Berlin with other cities. These express trains were painted in orange and cream and stood out with their colors from the other trains operating in the NRD at that time.
Modern express trains set off in the early morning hours to Berlin and returned in the afternoon. On the route, they had priority and were considered the most important trains. They ran from Monday to Friday. Due to the shortage of passenger cars, these connections could be serviced by one pair of trains on a given route.
Initially, these trains consisted only of 9-compartment carriages with 6 seats per compartment. The 1st class carriages had seats upholstered in fabric and carpets on the floor in the compartments. The 2nd class cars had seats upholstered in artificial leather.
We created a model that faithfully reflects the Y/B-70 coach. We put a lot of emphasis on every detail in this wagon. Very rich chassis showing almost all the details as they are in the real coach. We had to cast some details from metal, because it was not possible to make them from plastic injection.
Models with interior lighting and tail lights - ROBO 2.0 lighting bar.
The interior of the model is also very rich, it has:
- reproduced shape of seats typical for a 9-compartment coach,
- details on partition walls in compartments,
- luggage racks in each compartment,
- reproduced doors with a wall separating the compartment from the corridor
- both vestibules at both ends of the coach with a lot of details
- no break between harmonicas after connecting models with so-called short couplers,
- models with lighting have a strip for the middle of the car and the end of the train lighting. These lights can be turned on and off using a magnetic switch in each car (no decoder is needed for this). The lighting works with both analog and digital systems.
